Jean Lafitte

Jean Lafitte was a smuggler and privateer operating in the Gulf of Mexico during the early 19th century. His base was on an island in Barataria Bay, Louisiana, and he was a very successful smuggler. However, eventually smuggling became less profitable, and he gradually fell into piracy. He became an exceptional pirate – so much so that he became a prime target of the fledgling USN. Ultimately, his base was captured, and both he and his men were imprisoned.

Terms and Conditions:

The buyer is obligated to put 50% down of the full price if the item is not in stock. If the item is on backorder,  please allow 4-8 weeks for it to be cast and finished at the foundry. Please note that depending on how many items are in line at the foundry the delivery time may be more or less that 4-12 weeks. I have no control over the foundry’s schedule.

Once the backordered bronze is completed, the final 50% is due, and the item will not ship until final payment including the shipping cost has been made.

Shipping:

I ship exclusively with UPS. Once the bronze is completed at the foundry I will send the buyer an updated Invoice that includes the final 50% of the bronze cost, and the shipping cost and insurance if requested. I strongly recommend purchasing insurance to protect your investment while in transit. Buyer pays any insurance expenses, so please notify me if you want insurance so I can add it to the final invoice.

Returns:

If you don’t like the bronze you purchased, you can return it for a full refund within 30 days provided the bronze is returned to me in its original condition. Buyer pays cost of return shipping, and the bronze art must arrive undamaged in its original condition to be eligible for a refund. Damage incurred during shipping for all returned art disqualifies any refund.
